Annual Special Recycling Collections
Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful ensures that unnecessary waste is diverted from our landfill. Therefore, throughout the year we hold recycling/composting collections for the items listed below.
The Great Pumpkin Pitch
Instead of throwing your pumpkins and gourds in the trash this fall, compost them! We will be collecting pumpkins & gourds for composting starting November 1st until December 1st.
Please compost pumpkins & gourds ONLY.

Candy Wrapper Recycling
Wrappers are the second most littered items in the United States. We are collecting candy wrappers, no sucker sticks please! We'll be collecting candy wrappers for recycling starting October 31st until December 1st. Recycle your candy wrappers at YMCA of Greater Toledo locations:

Yard Sign Recycling
After the election on November 5th, recycle your yard signs! Yard sign drop-off sites are located at our Food Waste Drop-Off sites. Yard sign recycling drop-off will be available until December 1st.
Drop off yard signs for recycling at one of the following locations:
- Glass City Metropark - 901 Front Street, Toledo OH
- Swan Creek Metropark - 4301 Airport Highway, Toledo OH
- Toledo Botanical Garden - 5430 W Bancroft Street, Toledo OH
