Plant Trees for a Better World
Planting trees reduces urban heat and flooding, all while improving air quality in our community. That's why we are dedicated to planting trees, especially native trees, in Toledo and Lucas County!

Villamar Park Tree Planting
In 2021, we planted 30 trees and native grasses in North Toledo’s Villamar Park. Villamar Park is located in Washington Township, right on a tributary leading to Lake Erie. Along with partnering with the Washington Township Board of Trustees, we also worked with Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District to plan the project.
We couldn't have completed this planting without our wonderful volunteers from Whitmer High School’s Environment and Science Club, The Toledo Zoo’s Zoo Teens, Tree Toledo, and all of the families and individuals who came out to help. Along with beautifying the area, these trees and grasses will help improve water quality, reduce soil erosion, and decrease pollution in our environment.
Church of the Cross Tree Planting
In 2022, we planted 14 native trees at South Toledo's Church of the Cross. Along with partnering with the Church of the Cross, we also worked with the City of Toledo to execute this planting.
A big thank you to our volunteers from the Rain Garden Initiative, Tree Toledo, Epworth United Methodist Church, as well as all of our amazing individuals and families that made this planting possible. We look forward to the environmental benefits these trees will contribute to our environment for many years to come!
