Sponsorship Opportunities with Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful
Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful envisions a world in balance; a world where everything that is created is a resource for something else, and every person takes responsibility for the resources they use, ensuring proper/sustainable disposal. As a society, our goal should not be to limit our negative impact on the environment, but to have an actual positive one. This is the only way to create a sustainable future.
Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful is the local advocate for these changes. We are not alone. We work with global companies, local businesses, community organizations, and individuals to improve recycling, implement composting, eliminate litter, reduce single-use plastics, and make other “green” and sustainable decisions. But we need your help!

Toledo Litter League Sponsorship
Toledo Litter League is a competitive baseball themed litter abatement program aimed at striking out litter in Toledo. Teams consist of businesses, neighborhood groups, faith-based organizations, private clubs, civic organizations, and individuals. The cleanup season begins in June and runs through the end of August. All teams are then invited to a Toledo Mud Hens game for an end of season celebration.
Sponsorship of this initiatives includes:
Event Recycling Sponsorship
In 2019, at events like the Toledo Jeep Fest, The German American Festival, the Blade Holiday Parade, and the Glass City Wine Festival, Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful provided recycling services to an estimated 250,000 people. In more recent years, we've continued recycling at the ProMedica Summer Concerts as well as local festivals, ensuring that single-use plastic bottles and aluminum cans are recycled.
The Great Pumpkin Pitch Composting Sponsorship
It's estimated that of the 2 billion pounds of pumpkins grown in the US, 1.3 billion pounds end up in the landfill, trapping their nutrients and creating Greenhouse Gasses. Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful will be partnering with GoZero to offer Pumpkin and Gourd Composting. Drop-off Locations will be placed in Maumee, Sylvania, and Oregon. Roll-Off containers will be placed from early November to after Thanksgiving.
Candy Wrapper Recycling Sponsorship
Candy wrappers are not recyclable in curbside containers or at drop-off locations. Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful collects over 200 pounds of candy wrappers annually to send to a special processor for recycling. Collection boxes are placed at all YMCA of Greater Toledo Locations and the Toledo Zoo starting on November 1st and running until the beginning of December.
Yard Sign Recycling Sponsorship
Regardless of your political affiliation, everyone should be invested in doing the right thing for our environment. Political candidates create an average of 1 sign per 30 registered voters. With over 300,000 voters in Lucas County, that equals 10,000 signs per candidate. Collection of these hard-to-recycle items occur throughout Lucas and Wood Counties after election season.
